Robes of Injustice

Hell, it was my judge who was implicated

in the crime the jury committed. The red in their

faces matched the blue-blood in his veins,

and I could sense his robes getting all

bunched up.

Did they know he wore nothing underneath,

or was that a secret only I was privy to?

They didn’t know I was innocent of standing

by while he raped the judicial system,

received head in his office,

and accepted bribes from those oozing guilt

and cheap cologne.

Mister foreman, have you reached a verdict?

Yes your honor, we have.

How I snicker at that: honor.

We find you guilty of perverting justice

and hold ourselves in contempt.

Now let this girl go.
